Call for Participation to FSCONS Embedded

Introduction

FSCONS Embedded is a separate theme of the The Free Society Conference and Nordic Summit (FSCONS). The increased use of FOSS in the embedded market lead us to create a separate theme for Embedded for this year's FSCONS. By embedded we mean FOSS software on embedded devices or the devices them selves, copyleft hardware. So, if you want to present a cool device, a new API, a cool software, hold a workshop or anything that is FOSS and mebedded, submit your proposal according to the instructions below.

Participation

For this years conference we're looking for talks on a number of different issues or projects (both full-length and lightning talks), but we're also looking specifically for workshops to be held during the conference, or in the week before as pre-conference activities. All proposals that are submitted will be reviewed by members of the community before the final decisions are made.

In order to submit your proposal, please go to FSCONS 2010 Submit Proposal. This form is to be used for your own submissions. If you have ideas of other people you want to listen to, please feel free to suggest those in the FSCONS Wiki. When you fill out the form, we would like to ask you to provide the following information. Please keep in mind that the title and summary may be read by community reviewers. When deciding on the appropriate timeslot, please calculate about five minutes for questions and answers by the audience. For example, a 45 minute talk will be 40 minutes of presentation and five minutes for questions.

  • Author name(s)
  • Contact Information
  • Preferred timeslot (30, 45, or lightning)
  • Title of proposal
  • Summary of proposal

Important dates

The deadline for submissions is the 30st of June 2010. Accepted proposals will be notified as soon as possible after that date, but at the latest on the 30th of July 2010.

If your proposal for a talk is accepted, we would like to ask you to submit your full presentation in PDF format at latest one week before the conference. If your presentation will include audio or video material, we would prefer to receive those in Ogg Theora and Ogg Vorbis formats, so that we can make sure that they can be played during the presentation. We understand that not all would be able to give their presentation as PDF, or have other technical requirements that needs to be addressed. Please note those in your proposal, so that they can be taken into consideration when planning your session.
